Dear Alumni, Teachers, Former Students, and Friends:

WOW!  We are just months away from the 2017 Washington School Reunion (WSR) weekend.  Over the years, it has always been exciting to return to Caruthersville.  The opportunity to relax; fellowship with life-long friends; and reminisce about the past has always been an enjoyable experience.

 

Of significance is the fact that this is the 40th anniversary since the first reunion in 1977.  We should all thank Thelma Driver for having the inspiration to pull us together.  We have grown over the years by creating the Charles J. Lunderman Scholarship; establishing our 501(c)3 status; and expanding our outreach in the Caruthersville community.  You should also know that since 1981 (36 years) we have given 33 scholarships valued at over $35,000.00.

As the Planning Committee is busy finalizing plans for our 2017 Washington School Reunion, we continue to strive to make our reunion fulfilling for all and run smoothly.  The 2015 Reunion was so successful we could not accommodate all of our alumni and guest during the banquet on Saturday night.  We don’t want that to happen again, so get your registration in early.  Early registration will guarantee you for all Reunion items and events.  Detailed information regarding the costs, forms and deadline dates are enclosed in this packet. When making your room reservations please tell the hotel that you are with the Washington School Reunion, Inc., our group number (2298110 Drury Inn Only).

 

Pavers and bricks for the Monument are still available for purchase.  You may visit our website for forms and additional information regarding the cost.  If you have questions, please contact Ronald Nelson at 573-893-2170.

 

To make the 2017 Reunion successful, we need your additional support by purchasing an ad in the souvenir booklet.  Consider soliciting family members, friends, your church, and employer to purchase an ad as well.  Ads are most often purchased to market a business, celebrate an event, or to recognize a loved one that has passed.  We also need your support by making a monetary donation for the "Boothill Ladies" organization.  This organization consist of WSR Alumni and has a goal to provide coats, shoes, and other clothing for those in need.

 

If you will not be attending the 2017 reunion, please consider mailing a donation(s) for Booker T. Washington Monument, or the C.J. Lunderman Scholarship.  The Washington School Reunion, Inc., is Tax-exempt 501(c) 3 organization.
